I am delighted to share that we have been accredited with the prestigious Challenge Award by the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE), in recognition of the strength of our provision for more able students. We are extremely proud to be one of just 26 schools across London to have achieved this award.
Following a rigorous assessment visit in January, NACE Assessors spent time observing lessons across all year groups and a wide range of subjects. Their report praised the way in which our Academy ensures that 'all students are challenged' and provided with 'a wide variety of opportunities to excel'. They highlighted the quality of teaching at Harris Academy Wimbledon, noting our teachers’ excellent subject knowledge, clear passion for their subjects, and the skillful use of questioning to engage and stretch more able learners.
The Assessors also commended the rich range of academic enrichment opportunities available to our students beyond the classroom. These include initiatives such as the Scholars Society, Maths Circle, and History Explorers. In addition, our close partnership with King’s College School (KCS) Wimbledon was recognised as a particular strength, enabling our students to take part in KCS extracurricular activities and events, including the King’s College Latin Club and university preparation programmes.
This award recognises the breadth and quality of provision we offer at Harris Academy Wimbledon and reflects the aspirational, supportive culture we work hard to foster. All students benefit from this environment, which encourages them to aim high and achieve their full potential.
I am incredibly proud of our students for their commitment and hard work, and of our dedicated teaching staff who support them so expertly.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of the Academy.
Warm regards,
Mrs Larizadeh
