HAWI Rocks School
What is HAWI Rocks?
-
HAWI Rocks is a Saturday music school for young musicians in Years 5–11, based in Merton. It’s a high-energy, confidence-building space where young people can explore music, learn real instruments, and perform as part of a band.
-
HAWI Rocks is led by a team of musicians who are specialists in their instruments and are all teachers as well as music industry professionals in their day to day lives.
-
At HAWI Rocks, we’re here to ignite your child’s passion for music, unleash their inner rockstar, and make sure they have an amazing time while learning new skills.
What happens at HAWI Rocks?
-
At HAWI Rocks, students learn instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals. No previous experience is needed—just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a love of music.
-
Students work in bands, jam with others their age, and learn how to listen, collaborate, and perform as a team.
-
Performance is at the heart of HAWI Rocks. Students develop stage confidence through rehearsal sessions, regular performances to each other, and many opportunities to perform in concerts in, and out of school.
-
HAWI Rocks students have performed at Kings College Wimbledon’s Summer Arts Festival, Wimbledon High School’s Battle of the Bands and many of Harris Wimbledon’s annual concerts.
When is HAWI Rocks, how much does it cost, and how do I sign up?
-
HAWI Rocks sessions take place on Saturday mornings, on-site at Harris Academy Wimbledon. The sessions are 3 hours long, beginning at 10am and ending at 1pm.
-
There are 10 sessions each term, culminating in an end-of-term showcase where students have an opportunity to show friends and family what they have been building over the term.
-
A full term of 10 sessions costs £200, which works out to £20 per three-hour session, or just under £7/hour! We also offer discounted rates for students who refer a friend or bring a sibling, as well as a half-price rate for students eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
-
We offer a FREE trial session for newcomers, so that you can decide if HAWI Rocks is right for you and your child!
