It has been a great first week back. The students have come back after half term with renewed energy and I have seen some fantastic teaching and learning in classrooms. I have been busy appointing new teachers for our growing school and am delighted to let you know that we have recruited excellent teachers in English, Maths, Science, Drama, Classics, History and Design and Technology. There is still some more recruitment to complete and I’ll update you at the end of this half term with any further appointments. We are on track to move into our new building in September and we are busy planning the curriculum to take advantage of our new facilities. Next year students will have discrete lessons in Computer Science and have the opportunity to do a broader range of work in Design and Technology including food and resistant materials. The Art curriculum will be developed to take more opportunity of the photography facilities and we will be delighted to have a large sports hall after all this rain! Alongside the academic curriculum, we continue to work with students to be well-rounded individuals with a highly developed social conscience, ready to lead in their communities and beyond. I am looking forward to an excellent half term of working hard, having fun and being happy.
