Welcome to the summer term. It has been great to see everyone back, fully refreshed and ready for the term ahead.
In assemblies this week, I have asked students to focus on two key priorities over the next six weeks.
The first is attendance. We are aiming for 100% attendance for every student, every day. Attendance is vital because:
-
It ensures students do not miss important learning.
- It helps build positive routines, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
- There is a clear link between high attendance and strong academic outcomes.
Our second focus is preparation for exams, whether internal or external. We are delighted with how Year 11 students are approaching their GCSEs and how Year 13 students are preparing for their A Levels. We are confident they will do well if they continue to follow staff guidance and work hard.
We also have internal exams coming up, which are an important part of preparing for future external examinations. These help students to:
- Develop effective revision routines.
- Consolidate their understanding of knowledge and skills.
- Build confidence in exam conditions.
The exam schedule is as follows:
- Years 7–10: the week before half term
- Year 12: the second week after half term
It was lovely to see so many parents at the Upper School revision tips evening, and we look forward to welcoming Year 7 and Year 8 parents to their session next week. It was also fantastic to see so many Year 12 parents at the Futures Evening, as Year 12 students begin to consider their next steps, including university and degree apprenticeships.
Thank you for your continued support. Please ensure your child attends school every day and is actively preparing for their exams.
