We were delighted to welcome best selling author Manjeet Mann on Thursday and on the 4th March we look forward to welcoming Anthony McGowan, author of Lark and winner of the 2020 Carnegie Medal.  Evidence suggests that there is a positive relationship between reading frequency, reading enjoyment and how well students achieve at school.

Our library has over four and a half  thousands books and is open every day at breaktime, lunch time and after school.  Please encourage your child to go and see our very knowledgeable librarian, Ms Angely, if they would like any help choosing a book.  Year 7 have their re-arranged theatre trip on Monday and a reminder that all Year 11 need to be in school on the inset day on Friday.  Students in the Lower School are looking forward to the disco on Thursday.

I was delighted to attend the parents’ association (WPA)  meeting last night.  I’d like to thank them for being so generous with their time and for providing opportunities for the whole community; I’d also like to thank you for supporting the events.  Due to this excellent support, the WPA are going to make a donation of £2,000 to the school for some more equipment for the playground.  The next big event is our annual Community Quiz Night on the 7th March – please save the date.

This half term has flown by with just one week left.  Please can I encourage full attendance for the whole week.

Best wishes,

Mrs Larizadeh
