I think at this point in the term, it is important to pause and reflect on how HAWI staff ‘make a difference’ to all the students. Many of them are spending time with students both at the weekend and in the evenings to provide so many opportunities. Between now and the end of the term, we have evening theatre visits, Duke of
Edinburgh weekends, Year 7 residentials, Year 9 camping for Duke of Edinburgh, Arts Festival, reward trips and much more. The staff at HAWI are brilliant and always volunteer to provide as manyopportunities as possible - thank you!
The students are also being brilliant! I was so impressed with school council this morning; the house representatives shared their ideas with clear communication and confidence. They are organising our annual Heritage Day (more information in the newsletter) and have suggested more ideas, such as creating a school mascot. They often talk to me about the canteen and I am delighted to announce that we have appointed a new catering company from September. I will write to you with more information before the end of term.
