What I love about a HAWI student is that they continue to think about others and strive to ‘make a difference’ to the lives of everyone around them. This has been shown continuously this year by their support for each other and their dedication to either donating or raising money for charities.
On Friday, we will have a Mufti and Charity day.
Our charity day will focus on the celebration of diversity and acceptance. It will be the start of our LGBT+ History Month where we recognise all those people in history who weren’t allowed to have a voice. It will be a mufti day and we are asking all students to bring in £1.00 as a donation to Stop Hate UK – a leading organisation working to challenge all form of Hate Crime and discrimination, based on any aspect of an individual’s identity. We will be holding a Cake Sale at lunch, which will be a House Competition, the house with the most cakes will win points, points will be also be awarded to the best cake designed for diversity – please get baking! We will also be asking students to write a ‘Hand of Hope’ writing a message of hope, for people in our community and around the world, who don’t feel safe to be who they want to be, these messages will be shared in the Dining Hall.
Have a good weekend
