GCSE Results 2023
HARRIS ACADEMY WIMBLEDON CELEBRATES FIRST SET OF GCSE RESULTS – AND THEY’RE SUPERB!
Students at Harris Academy Wimbledon are today celebrating the Academy’s first-ever results. The Academy opened in 2018 and has grown a year at a time. The students collecting their results today are therefore the Academy’s founding students.
The results are significantly above National Average in all measures with over 85% of all grades achieving at least a grade 4 (National Average (NA) 70.3%), 72% are grade 5 or higher (NA 54.4%) and almost a third (30%) are at least a grade 7 (NA 22.4%).
There were also some very strong performances in individual subjects. In Latin, which is only offered by a handful of state-funded schools, a third (33%) of students achieved a grade 9. In triple science, nearly half of grades (47%) were a grade 7 or higher.
A number of students achieved exceptionally well with some getting 8s and 9s across the board.
Many of the Academy’s Year 11 students will now go on to the Academy’s Sixth Form which opens in September.
Jo Larizadeh, Principal of Harris Academy Wimbledon, said:
“We are delighted with our first-ever set of results which demonstrate the high academic standards we have set at Harris Academy Wimbledon. Our founding students have achieved incredibly well and have set the standard for others to follow. I am very proud of all our students and I am pleased that so many will be staying on for our Sixth Form which will seek to emulate the success we have achieved so far.”
If you would like to join Harris Academy Wimbledon's Sixth Form (HAWI6), please come for enrolment on Thursday 31st August between 10am and 12pm.
