Principal's Newsletter
Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter. We are going to publish a newsletter every Friday afternoon during term time on the website. For the first week, we are also sending a link via email but from next week, please go straight to the website. I am pleased to announce that there is now an App for the website. You can view the App by downloading the Harris Federation App to your phone. Simply search for ‘Harris Federation’ in your App Store, download the App and enter ‘Wimbledon’ when prompted. Then click ‘Add to My Schools’.
Our motto is ‘make a difference’ and centred around three key words: Independence, Integrity and Resilience. Building and developing resilience in the cold December days is really important for success. It is crucial that we encourage young people to embrace new situations and to experience the myriad of opportunities open to them. I am delighted with all of the new skills year 7 and 8 students are developing in their enrichment lessons. A Tuesday afternoon is busy with students taking photographs, completing Science experiments, learning about the London Stock Exchange, practising their Lamda speeches and debating about Politics. In assembly this week, we discussed the upcoming Election and the importance of voting and democracy. We are delighted to announce our own candidates for our mock election; you can read more about it in the newsletter below.
