King's College School Partnership
A Unique A-Level Partnership with King’s College School, London
HAWI6 is proud to offer a distinctive A-level partnership between HAWI6 and King’s College School (KCS), London, one of the UK’s highest-performing independent schools.
This partnership is focused on post-16 education, bringing together students and staff at A-level to share academic experiences, expertise and ambition. It is a model that benefits both schools: combining King’s depth of academic excellence with HAWI6’s innovative, forward-looking approach to sixth form education.
Academic Excellence and Shared Standards
King’s College School is widely recognised for its exceptional academic outcomes. Its A-level results are consistently outstanding, with a very high proportion of A and A grades*, and it regularly features at or near the top of national league tables, including The Times and Parent Power rankings. Students progress to the most competitive universities in the UK and internationally.
HAWI6, though newly established, has already demonstrated the impact of high expectations and academic ambition. In its first year, students secured places at Cambridge and a range of Russell Group universities, an achievement that reflects both student commitment and the strength of academic support in place from the outset.
The partnership with King’s College School strengthens this foundation and provides further opportunities for academic stretch and preparation at the highest level.
A-Level Academic Enrichment
A core element of the partnership is the opportunity for HAWI6 students to join King’s College School every Tuesday afternoon, learning alongside KCS sixth formers through a programme of advanced academic talks and lectures.
These sessions mirror the style and depth of university study, exposing students to contemporary research, complex ideas and expert speakers. Recent topics have included:
· The Science of Giant Telescopes
· Global Health and Malaria, with Dr James K Tibenderana, Chief Executive of Malaria Consortium
· Phantom Limb Syndrome – neurological explanations and treatments
· Artificial Intelligence and Society, led by Mr Alex Sargood
These shared academic experiences foster intellectual curiosity, confidence and academic maturity at A-level.
Collaborative Sixth Form Community Projects
The partnership extends beyond the classroom, with HAWI6 and King’s sixth form students working together on a range of community projects. These initiatives develop leadership, teamwork and a sense of social responsibility which are key attributes for both university and future careers.
Projects include:
· Joint drama productions
· Reading and mentoring in local primary schools
· Latin tutoring
· Environmental initiatives, including beekeeping
Higher Education Preparation at A-Level
As part of the partnership, HAWI6 students benefit from targeted higher education support through King’s College School. This includes attendance at the annual KCS Higher Education Day, where students gain expert guidance on:
· Making a successful university application
· Understanding competitive admissions processes
· Preparing for admissions tests
Students also complete mock admissions tests for highly selective courses such as Oxbridge, Medicine, Law and Engineering, providing insight and confidence at a crucial stage.
Mock Admissions Interviews
Early applicants from HAWI6 can take part in mock university admissions interviews conducted by experienced members of the King’s College School team. These interviews offer realistic preparation, professional feedback and a clear understanding of university expectations.
King’s Business School Programme
Selected HAWI6 students may apply to attend King’s Business School, a week-long immersive experience hosted at King’s College School. Students spend the week:
· Learning from leading business professionals and academics
· Participating in practical workshops and case studies
· Developing the skills required for success in competitive business-related pathways
Building on Early Success
This A-level partnership reflects a shared commitment to academic excellence and aspiration. HAWI6 has already demonstrated what is possible in its first year, and working closely with one of the UK’s strongest schools provides further depth, challenge and opportunity.
As HAWI6 continues to grow, this collaboration will play a key role in supporting students to aim high, think critically and take confident steps towards the most competitive university destinations.
