I always enjoy the Autumn Celebration as it showcases the many talents of our students. The young players narrated the excellent musical acts with confidence, humour and clarity. The choir sang three of my favourite songs - Higher and Higher, Count On Me and Fix You with some wonderful solo performances from Carlan, Jenny, Wiktoria and Emerson. HAWI Rocks! entertained the audience with Don't Stop and Johnny B. Goode. Ruben, Jaye, Kanay and Zion performed Seven Nation Army on the ukuleles and it was great to see the string group and folk group perform some Christmas carols and Drunken Sailor and the Blooming Heather respectively. United Dance Company shared their choreography to Tilted. And the evening culminated with the Year 7 choir singing Happy, Ain't No Mountain High Enough and Hey Jude. They sang all three songs with great enthusiasm and received a well deserved round of applause at the end. What made the concert so special for me was seeing all the Year 7 students perform with such confidence in their first term at Secondary school. Well done to everyone involved and a special thank you to Miss Allen who coordinated the whole event.
