Great turnout at open evening sessions for Harris Academy Wimbledon
There was a full house at this week’s open evening sessions for prospective parents of Harris Academy Wimbledon.
Parents watched presentations on the plans for the new school building, which will open in High Path in 2020, and heard more about the exciting curriculum for Year 7s, who will be the academy’s very first students next September.
Principal Designate, Jo Larizadeh said:
“It was wonderful to meet so many prospective parents and carers and their children last night. There has been a great deal of work going on behind the scenes preparing the curriculum, timetable and teaching for the new academy and it was great to be able to share that with families who are interested in applying.
“Although the academy will start its life in temporary accommodation, we will have all the resources and facilities we need to deliver a broad, challenging and engaging curriculum for our first year 7s – and be ready to transfer smoothly across to our amazing new building when it is ready.
“Being part of a school at its inception is a great experience. Our first students will be the role models for the future and set a trail for others to emulate. I’m delighted that so many local families might want to join us.”
Parents or carers who could not make the open evening can still find out more about how to apply.
