New Principal Designate appointed
We are very happy to announce that we have appointed our Principal Designate.
Joanne Larizadeh is currently Associate Headteacher at the “outstanding” (Ofsted) Glenthorne High School. She will be working alongside our Executive Principal, Lee Mallin.
Joanne said:
“I am thrilled to be appointed as Principal Designate of Harris Academy Wimbledon. Building and developing a new school with the local community is a real privilege and one that I look forward to with passion and enthusiasm.
“When it opens in 2018, our academy will provide an outstanding education in an innovative, inclusive and happy environment. As well as promoting high levels of academic achievement and encouraging full participation in a range of extra-curricular opportunities, we want to support our students to make decisions wisely, ready for the challenges they will face as adults.
“Having worked in the leadership of outstanding schools for fifteen years, I am passionate that school should be a journey of discovery. My aim is for all our students to progress their personal interests and develop new skills and passions across a broad range of activities. I want our enrichment programme to help foster a spirit of aspiration, resilience and joy in learning.
“I understand the challenges of modern life and will ensure the opportunities at Harris Academy Wimbledon support your children to become self-confident adults who lead enriched, happy and fulfilled lives, able to make a contribution to their own community and society as a whole.
“I look forward to meeting and working with you in the future.”
